To offer flying areas as huge as possible to the birds in their enclosures, volumes as large as possible and as less carrying structures as possible installed in the aviary as they would affect the flight path are tried to be realised designing aviaries.

X-TEND Stainless steel cable mesh

To avoid that the birds can leave the aviary, meshes with small mesh widths (20-40mm) that are adapted to the size of the birds, are chosen. Furthermore, it is important that the mesh structure is completely closed. In contrast to natural stainless steel cable meshes, blackened meshes melt together with the surrounding and enable an almost unlimited view on the birds.

Walkable free flight aviaries

Aviaries are part of the few enclosure types, the zoo visitors can enter. Due to locks, the birds cannot leave the aviary and fly away, when the door is opened.

Natural environment

X-TEND stainless steel cable meshes offer the possibility to integrate trees and forests into the mesh structure. Like this a natural environment can be offered as living area to the birds.

To protect the animals from rodents, ground connections with distances as little as possible between ground and border cable or tube are realised.
