BALCONY OVERLOOKING THE SEA

This futuristic pedestrian and cyclists’ bridge in Sassnitz city harbour, directly on the Baltic, is reminiscent of a balcony looking out over the sea. With its wide span and boldly curved design it overcomes a height difference of 22 meters. In 2010 it received the German Bridge Design Award in the “Pedestrian and Cyclists Bridge” category. The light, transparent structure, featuring X-TEND mesh as balustrade in-fill, provides perfect views of the harbour and the Baltic See no matter where you happen to be standing.
