Car park with a safety net

Kingsford Smith International Airport or Sydney Airport is the airport of the Australian metropolis Sydney and the largest in Australia. Nature, culture and dream beaches - Sydney is one of the most impressive travel destinations. Sydney International Airport handles around 28 million passengers annually. It is located around nine kilometers south of the city center and has three terminals, two of which are used for national and one for international air traffic.

Facade cladding with X-TEND

An “open parking deck” and fall protection at the same time - Carl Stahl ARC has the solution here. The Carl Stahl ARC X-TEND stainless steel cable mesh was installed on an area of around 1,500 square meters at the new car park directly at the Sydney International Airport. The transparency of the X-TEND mesh and the light-looking net edging as well as intermediate fastenings with I-SYS rope assemblies is an almost invisible fall protection in a class of its own. Over 8 floors and over a length of 71 meters, the X-TEND net not only serves as a fall protection, but also as facade cladding. Due to the high permeability of X-TEND, the air can pass through unhindered and the effect of the "open parking deck" is achieved according to local building regulations.
