School sports at a dizzy height

Tidemill School is located in Deptford, a densely populated London borough south of the Thames. When extra space became unavoidable, here simply wasn’t room to extend the school premises in the normal way. Instead, the local authorities decided to build upwards and so a rooftop football pitch was built on top of the second storey. The pitch is contained within flexible X-TEND stainless steel mesh, which was mounted horizontally.
