Huge spans for great greening

A population of more than 22,000 lives in the tranquil Westerstede. The district town in the north-western part of Lower Saxony is known for many great sights such as the nearby Fikensolt Castle. Lovers of architecture and plants have recently gained a new highlight. A two-storey office building stands on a rectangularly bent ground plan. What makes it special is that it has been wrapped with I-SYS stainless steel cables that are tensioned crosswise.

Greener everyday office life

For the office employees working there, the owners of the office building dared to take an extraordinary step. The lush greenery that grows and flourishes along the I-SYS stainless steel cables fulfils several great tasks.

On the one hand, the plants provide pleasant shade in summer. This means that no unpleasant heat is generated in the fully glazed offices. On the other hand, the plants also create a protective screen against road and car dust. Instead of penetrating the lungs of office workers through the open windows, the dust particles get stuck in the plants.
