The Aspe school center with comprehensive school, grammar school and secondary school in Bad Salzuflen (North Rhine-Westphalia) is located about 3 kilometers from the city center. Approximately 650 students attend the municipal secondary school. In 2018, the construction of the school center and restructuring was commissioned. After 3 years of construction, the building wings of the school center are now divided so that each type of school has its own area. A new generation teaching and learning environment.
The new Realschule building with its three buildings is the largest school made of wood in the whole of North Rhine-Westphalia and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. For the connecting corridors of the individual buildings, our Carl Stahl Architecture X-TEND stainless steel cable mesh was used for fall protection. A good choice - because here safety meets design. A total of 424 square meters of stainless steel cable meshes were used here. Now a safe transition into the different rooms is possible. The stainless steel mesh, which are fully tensioned over 2 stories, provide a view of the surrounding landscape and function not only as fall protection but also as protection against vandalism.
The attractive design of our X-TEND is something to be proud of. In the break hall, our mesh geometry was the model for the large post-and-beam glass facades. Here there were additional requirements for bird protection from the BUND. The bird impact protection was realized based on the mesh, the future guidance and orientation system is also oriented on it. A beautiful overall picture.
