Maximum safety with our X-TEND stainless steel mesh

What could be better than being able to play safely at a playground with not a care in the world? The Robinson playground in Westfalenpark in Dortmund, Germany, went under extensive modernisation in 2021. Westfalenpark is a 70-hectare park in Dortmund, affectionately known to locals as “the green lung”. Here, you will feel as if you are on a short holiday. The Robinson playground in the lower part of the park is a play area with new playing and climbing facilities set up to reflect the theme “World Journey”. The new playscape is geared towards the standards of modern educational theory. - - A  new world of play for all ages.

The modernisation took around a year and cost over 1.8 million euros. There is a great deal to explore and discover from “terrible gorges”, to the “tricky maze” and “the steep rush ”. The gorge landscape with its secret paths and tunnels will appeal to children whatever their age.

Flexible and transparent - the X-TEND stainless steel cable mesh

X-TEND stainless steel cable mesh was used as fall protection on the new climbing tower with its tube slide. Because X-TEND stands for safety. The stainless steel mesh from Carl Stahl ARCHITECTURE is self-sprung so there is no risk of injury – on the contrary: it is fall protection that can be used flexibly. And that makes it possible for children to play, jump and climb without needing to worry or feel nervous.

Around 50 square metres of X-TEND stainless steel cable mesh with a mesh size of 70 mm were installed on the tower. The stainless steel cable mesh is a versatile tool both indoors and out:
