The new building for the Klinik am Eichert in Goeppingen is one of the largest construction projects in Baden-Württemberg. State-of-the-art medicine and care are created here in a building complex that guarantees high-quality healthcare. Goeppingen is about 40 kilometers east of Stuttgart at the foot of the Swabian Alb. The clinic cares for 250,000 residents from 38 communities in the district of Goppingen. The new clinic is expected to be completed by 2024. Then it is one of the most modern clinics in Baden-Württemberg.
The helipad of the new building is more than 33 meters above the ground. Our X-TEND stainless steel cable mesh with a width of 2 meters surrounds the landing area around the actual landing platform. Including the mesh, the area has a diameter of approximately 35 meters and is designed for helicopters with a weight of up to six tons. Thanks to the direct elevator connection to the emergency room, the new clinic on the “Eichert” will be more attractive for approaches. So far, the patients have to be transferred from the helicopter to an ambulance before they can be brought to the clinic.
On heliports, very strong winds can occur during landing and take-off. It has to be weatherproof and dimensionally stable - the safety meshes for personal protection. All of this is provided by our CARL STAHL Architektur X-TEND stainless steel cable mesh. Helipads are one of the most common uses for horizontal security. Frame constructions made of stainless steel cables or edge tubes, as well as their filling made of stainless steel cable meshes, adapt optimally to the shape of the landing area. Our X-TEND offers variable solutions for round or square helipads.
