CREATIVE CABLE AND MESH SOLUTIONS
Actelion Pharmaceuticals Ltd, headquartered in Allschwil near Basel in Switzerland, has been part of Johnson Johnson. Actelion researches, develops and markets drugs for these previously inadequately treatable diseases and has achieved great success with them. Allschwil is located on the southwestern edge of the city Basel and is surrounded on two sides by France. In February 2009, construction began on a new center for research and clinical development, the so-called Clinical Research Building, which employs around 500 people.
The office building, which was completed in 2010, is an unusual sight. At first glance, the arrangement of the stacked structures looks random. The floor plan of the building extends over 80 x 80 meters; it rises a total of 21 meters over six floors. As no two floors are the same, the five to seven beams per floor seem to be stacked randomly in all possible directions. With such a three-dimensional stacking, extraordinary views are achieved.

In the Actelion Business Center, X-TEND with a circumferential I-SYS stainless steel cable were attached to secure the infills, balconies and external parapets. A total of 390 square meters of stainless steel cable net were installed here. With a mesh size of 40 mm diameter on 1.5 mm ropes, X-TEND forms an elegant design that adapts charmingly to its surroundings.
