Holy city project full of superlatives

The Makkah Clock Tower is one of the most gigantic construction projects anywhere in the Arab world. The largest clock ever built adorns the façade of this amazing skyscraper. The colossal building in Islam’s holy city was planned by Stuttgart architects SL Rasch. The minute hand alone measures 22 metres in length. X-TEND stainless steel mesh secures the viewing platform at a height of 558 metres. It was installed by Muslim experts from CARL STAHL ARCHITECTURE because the construction site was located in the sacred precinct of Mecca.
