Parking with floral ornaments in Salzburg

On the northern edge of the Alps the beautiful city of Salzburg with its 155,000 inhabitants. Salzburg is an important city in the field of trade fairs and congresses as well as tourism. The two largest hospitals by far are the Christian Doppler Clinic on the southern edge of Liefering and the State Hospital, also: St. Johanns Spital, in Mülln. Since 2004 they have been combined with other Salzburg hospitals to form the holding company Salzburger Landeskliniken in short SALK. At the Mülln location, around 48,000 patients are cared for annually in over 1,000 hospital beds in 19 specialist departments and seven institutes.

Parking garage is used to calm traffic

The new car park had to meet the legal requirements of the city of Salzburg and the Salzburg state government for traffic calming. With full operation of the parking garage, traffic on the clinic should be reduced to a minimum and should be freed from public car traffic. The eleven-story state hospital car park is located on the grounds of the Salzburg state hospital in the city of Salzburg-Mülln and began full operation in August 2017. It offers 1250 parking spaces.

Floral ornamentation with X-TEND

The elaborate facade design is a specialty. The X-TEND stainless steel cable mesh installed by Carl Stahl ARC not only serves as a fall protection, but is also the inert material for 6800 stainless metal strips that create a flower ornament. The floral pattern was woven into the mesh structure with steel strips made in such a way that a kind of oversized pictogram was created. The planning effort was worth it. Of course, possible glare effects were taken into account. To avoid this, the stainless steel strips are glossy on the inside and matt on the outside.
