CREATIVE CABLE AND MESH SOLUTIONS
In the middle of the Bavarian Forest National Park rises a new 52 meter high forest tower with slides, climbing opportunities and viewing platform. The forest tower is like a huge tree and stands on a single trunk made of reinforced concrete.
The forest top path St. Engelmar offers a gigantic view. With a diameter of 26 meters you can admir the stunning nature from an all-round view. With a width of 2.5 meters, the spiral path to the top is not just a walk, but you can stop at any point along the 400 meter long path and enjoy the view. The forest tower offers fun for young and old. With the 2 slides, the way down can also go very quickly - if you want.
St. Engelmar was one of the pioneers for the treetop paths. The panoramic footbridge with viewing platform was built in 2008 at a height of 30 meters. In 2020 the popular excursion destination was expanded to include the forest tower.
The new forest tower must be secured for the visitors. With a total of 1000 square meters of X-TEND stainless steel cable meshes from Carl Stahl ARC, the right choice was made.
X-TEND is a good solution, especially when using fall protection due to the low weight. It offers enough transparency to allow an unrestricted view and to enjoy it safely. Compared to other common railing infills, meshes made of stainless steel have a high degree of flexibility and can create individual railings with little effort. Our X-TEND stainless steel cable mesh offers a filigree, transparent and modern option. This is the ideal way to combine safety with design.
