CREATIVE CABLE AND MESH SOLUTIONS
Perth - the largest city in the Australian state of Western Australia has created a new attraction for young and old peoples with the modernization of the Wellington Square Park. A intergenerational park was created for17.5 million $. In the new playground the little visitors can romp, explore, play and experience adventures.
The "upgrade" of the city of Perth took a little over 12 months. In addition to the new playground, event rooms for medium to large activities and a multi-purpose sports field were also built.
The 3,000 square meter big foot park and playing field has a double name in recognition of the importance of Wellington Square to many of the Aboriginal community. It is also called Koolangka Koolangka Waabiny, which means children's playground in Whadjuk Nyoongar. Under the motto "Landscape of Play", the design of this inner city playground is heavily influenced by its Aboriginal themes and the iconic landscapes of Western Australia. The colors in the huge playground are inspired by the colors of the native flowers of Western Australia.
A special variant was chosen for the 60 percent shading of the playground - our Carl Stahl ARC X-TEND stainless steel cable mesh. The free spanned horizontal roof mesh with an area of almost 1,200 square meters covers around half of the playground. The colorful applications with different sizes and colors are not only a cheerful play of colors but also create pleasant shading in summer. The shade design can remain installed all year round.
Our X-TEND stainless steel rope mesh is very flexible and therefore versatile. Whether as a railing infill, fall protection or as a three-dimensional design element, our X-TEND is safe, dimensionally stable and weatherproof. Due to the three-dimensional deformability, there are almost limitless design options.
